FROM: YOUR NAME AND ADDRESS WILL APPEAR HERE
RE: Support The Holsinger Nomination!
I am distressed to read that
liberal Democrats and
left-wing newspapers are
already attacking Dr. James
Holsinger, the President’s
nominee for Surgeon General.
Dr. Holsinger's critics have
engaged in scurrilous
behavior; particularly June
Reinisch, formerly of the
Kinsey Institute. Their
strategy? Make up a quote,
attribute it to him,
ridicule it, and then say
the made up quote proves
he's not qualified for the
job.
But let's get one thing
straight: for the most part,
Dr. Holsinger's work
summarizes scholarly studies
-- published in learned
journals -- that document
the injuries, diseases, and
deaths that result from
homosexual practices. Dr.
Holsinger’s “white paper”
to which Reinisch refers,
was basically a summary of
medical articles from
professional journals. It
was not an agenda-driven
diatribe.
Are we to have a Surgeon
General who can’t cite
medical facts because the
National Gay and Lesbian
Task Force might object? If
so, don’t fill the post. Or
did the staff of
Christianity Today sum
up the situation better when
they wrote: "The
Holsinger denouncements and
the White House's assertion
that Holsinger couldn't
possibly have meant what he
wrote suggest that
opposition to homosexual
behavior is becoming a
disqualification from
serving in high public
office."
I urge you to hang tough in
support of Dr. James
Holsinger. The American
people must be told the true
nature of his views. Let
everyone hear – in most
instances for the first time
– why homosexuality is a
public health issue rather
than a civil rights issue –
and why our government must
tell the truth about this
dangerous practice.
If this nomination is
scuttled, the GOP leadership
will be held accountable.
Sincerely,
Your Signature Will Be Recreated Here

The radical homosexual movement has bought the rope, and they're swarming all over Washington, hooting, shrieking, ready to lynch Dr. James Holsinger, President Bush's nominee for Surgeon General.
They learned something about Dr. Holsinger that is so vile, so contemptible, so obscene that they can't allow him to be confirmed by the Senate. They found out -- are you ready for this? -- that he's a Christian!
And it gets worse. Holsinger also believes homosexuals engage in acts that are unhealthy and dangerous, and he said so publicly way back in 1991!
The radical homosexual movement believes that if such a man becomes Surgeon General, the sun, moon, and stars will fall from the sky.
As usual, the news media have joined the lynch party. ABC has already launched an attack on Holsinger, taking quotes out of context, omitting the major argument of his paper, setting him up for the Odd Squad.
According to ABC, university professor Eli Coleman said of Dr. Holsinger's paper: "I can't imagine that any scientific journal would be able to publish this material because of its very narrow views of homosexuality."
"In fact," ABC said, wagging its magisterial finger, "if one of his students handed the paper in, Coleman would give it a failing grade."
Professor Coleman is probably right. No medical journal "would be able to publish this material" because the Brown Shirts of the radical homosexual rights movement would storm their offices and terrorize them, just as they stormed the American Psychiatric Association meetings in the early 70's and terrorized the cowering doctors until they removed homosexuality from the list of mental disorders.
And we're all familiar with the current practice of professors failing college students if they don't parrot the university's politically correct ideology.
But let's get one thing straight: for the most part, Dr. Holsinger's article summarizes scholarly studies -- published in learned journals -- that document the injuries, diseases, and deaths that result from homosexual practices.
Dr. Coleman knows this. He doesn't want YOU to find out. That's why he's so terrified of Surgeon General Holsinger.

June Reinisch is also terrified that Dr. Holsinger's scientific message will get out.
Reinisch was once head of the Kinsey Institute, a propaganda mill that has served the radical homosexual movement since its founding.
She undoubtedly knows that if the American people ever learn just how much harm homosexual practices do to those that engage in them, that they would NEVER support the promotion of this "lifestyle" in the schools, the media and our culture in general.
Reinisch doesn't merely ignore the studies Dr. Holsinger cites. She claims he says things he didn't say:
"It seems to me he's arguing the only way reproduction happens is in a loving heterosexual environment which is of course not true!" Then she mentions artificial methods, rape and one-night stands.
YOU KNOW WHAT? SHE MADE ALL THAT UP. He said nothing in his paper about "a loving heterosexual environment."
Here's what Holsinger actually wrote:
"Reproduction can occur only by utilizing the reproductive system, requiring both the female ovum (egg) and the male sperm. Ova are fertilized naturally in the fallopian tubes of women following sexual intercourse by the sperm which transits through the vagina and uterus following release from the penis. Although artificial methods are available and used, the anatomy and physiology of humans have resulted in a natural means for conception."
Reinisch -- who was director of the infamous Kinsey Institute when Holsinger wrote this paper -- said that if he "is going to come up with this position in 2007 I think I can clearly say that he is not qualified to be surgeon general."
So that's the strategy to defeat Dr. Holsinger:
Make up a quote, attribute it to him, ridicule it, and then say the quote you made up proves he's not qualified for the job.
These are the kind of people who will be prancing around Capitol Hill -- gritting their teeth, flaring their nostrils, telling Senators that Dr. Holsinger is the Beast of the Apocalypse.
Don't let them get away with it this time! If this man become surgeon general, he will have the nation's attention and be able to tell the truth about homosexuality.

O.K. So what else did Dr. Holsinger actually say?
While serving on the Committee to Study Homosexuality of The United Methodist Church, in January of 1991, he told his fellow members that they should look at homosexuality from a scientific point of view.
He cited study after study to prove that homosexual acts are unhealthy.
Here's a quote from one study-- to give you an idea of the kind of evidence he offered:
"Four general groups of conditions may be encountered in homosexually active men: classical sexually transmitted disease (gonorrhea, infections with chlamydia trachomatis, syphilis, herpes simplex infections, genital warts, pubic ice, scabies); enteric diseases (infections with Shigella species, Campylobacter jejuni, Entamoeba histolytica, Giardia lamblia, hepatitis A, hepatitis B, hepatitis non-A, non-B, and cytomegalovirus); trauma (fecal incontinence, hemorrhoids, anal fissure, foreign bodies, rectosigmoid tears, allergic proctitis, penile edema, chemical sinusitis, inhaled nitrite burns, and sexual assault of the male patient); and the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS)" (Owens, 1985)
Virtually everything Holsinger wrote in this "white paper" is incontrovertible -- facts obtained through research conducted according to strict scholarly rules.
Yet the politicians and news commentators -- ignorant, bigoted, and terrified of gay rights goons -- tried to outdo themselves in snarling and posturing:
Former Senator John Edwards said:
"In a profession dedicated to healing and compassion, it cannot be hard to find a qualified candidate for surgeon general who sees all human beings as equals. ... Holsinger's anti-gay writings and beliefs suggest that he will undermine, not advance, the cause of equality and fairness in health care."
Teddy Kennedy:
"I am disappointed that the administration looked past the many talented physicians who have a record of bringing people together and instead chose an individual whose record appears to guarantee a polarizing and divisive nomination process."
The Boston Globe:
"...no one should go into the job with a record of discriminating against people because of their sexual orientation."
The Washington Post called the study: "bigotry masquerad[ing] as science."

By the way, the Bush Administration didn't take a courageous stand in support of Dr. Holsinger.
Instead, The White House spokeswoman made excuses for him:
"That was not his belief. It was not his opinion. It was a compilation of studies that were available at that time. Over the last 20 years, a clearer understanding of these issues has been achieved."
If anything, we have a darker, murkier understanding of homosexuality because of the junk science, propaganda, and lies put out by the gay rights movement.
Has the Republican Party turned its back on traditional values?
Commenting on the White House statement, Christianity Today asked a chilling question:
"Where does that leave biblical Christians? We may soon come to the point where supporting a sexual ethic based on an orthodox reading of Scripture becomes part of our cross to bear... The Holsinger denouncements and the White House's assertion that Holsinger couldn't possibly have meant what he wrote suggest that opposition to homosexual behavior is becoming a disqualification from serving in high public office." [Emphasis Mine]
In other words, in order to work in Washington, do you have to pledge allegiance to perversion?
So now's the time to let Republican senators know how you feel. They will have to stand strong and have the cooperation of at least one Democrat.
And you can be certain these Senators have already heard from the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, the ACLU, and People for the American Way.
It's going to take hundreds of us to make our voices heard above the shrieks of the radical homosexual activists.
If we don't care enough to tell them how we feel, our politicians in Washington won't care enough about us to do what we want!
