Is it just me or are
any of you as frustrated as I am at the ridiculously
inane questions posed to the presidential candidates
during the debates and interviews on TV and radio? It
seems as though no politician has had to face any
genuinely challenging questions regarding their actual
positions and record.
Because I believe that
most Americans are sick and tired of the scripted
talking points, I will be issuing a series of "Questions
For The Candidates"... questions that I have seldom, if
ever, heard asked by any major TV or radio hosts...
questions that should reveal the candidates' true
beliefs and values.
With any luck, perhaps
some of these questions will find their way into future
interviews and debates. At least then Americans would
get what they deserve; straight talk and truth instead
of talking points and spin.
Let's start the ball
rolling with Mitt Romney:
Order
your autographed copy of Greg Jackson's explosive new run-away
bestseller "Conservative Comebacks to Liberals Lies."
Let's say you're listening to a loony liberal, debating some
dopey Democrat, or arguing with a gaggle of goofy lefties.
Wouldn't it be great to have the facts to combat all those
liberal lies? Well,
here it finally is.
You can also order a
non-autographed copy from Amazon.com
here and save 37% off the cover price of $19.95.
1. Homosexual-Marriage:
Mr. Romney, you say that you oppose so-called same-sex
marriage. If that is the case, why, when you were
governor of Massachusetts and had the authority to
remove activist judges who usurped the legislative
authority of the citizens of the Commonwealth to make
marriage laws, did you do nothing? Why, instead of
stopping a group of unelected judges from imposing their
personal views on the citizens of Massachusetts, did you
instead order justices of the peace to perform same-sex
marriage ceremonies or be fired? Why, did you direct the
Department of Public Health to change the wording on
marriage licenses from "husband" and "wife" to "partner
A" and "partner B" when this was not required by any
law?
2.
Socialist Healthcare:
Mr. Romney, you claim to be a free market fiscal
conservative; yet you left Massachusetts with what many
have called a socialist healthcare plan which has
increased the costs of businesses in Massachusetts and
is already causing many businesses to exit
Massachusetts. If elected president, do you plan
institute a national healthcare plan?
3.
Honesty:
Mr. Romney, one of the most important qualities in a
leader is honesty. You stated a few weeks ago that you
had been a hunter "pretty much your whole life." Then
only days later, you admitted that you had only been
hunting twice in your entire life. How would
you reconcile these two contradictory statements and
would you like to issue "clarifications" for any other
past statements?
4.
The Right to Bear Arms:
Mr. Romney, you say that you support the 2nd
Amendment. However, you have been a proud supporter of
many restrictive gun control laws in Massachusetts
including the Brady Bill and the "assault weapons ban."
Why? And do you really believe that gun control
laws reduce crime?
5.
Homosexual
Boy Scout Leaders:
Mr. Romney, you once stated in a debate with Senator Ted
Kennedy that the Boy Scouts should accept gay scout
masters. Furthermore, you made this statement
while you were a member of the Boy Scout of America's
Executive Council. Do you stand by that statement? The
Boston Globe, has reported that there have been
over 2,500 pedophilia cases on record involving gay
scout leaders. Do you believe that heterosexual
pedophiles, transvestites, and even necrophiliacs should
be allowed to be Scout leaders too since you are opposed
to discrimination based on sexual orientation?
6.
Reagan Republican?:
Mr. Romney, you began your presidential campaign by
calling yourself a Reagan Republican. Reagan's
evangelical beliefs were the foundation of his politics.
Aren't your religious beliefs different?
7.
Bigotry:
Mr. Romney, you have suggested for the past few months
that evangelicals who would not vote for a Mormon are
bigots? Don't people have the right to vote for whomever
they want for whatever reason without being accused of
bigotry? Would you call a staunch Roman Catholic (Mrs.
O'Grady) a bigot simply because she has made the
personal choice to vote for the Irish Catholic
candidates in every Boston election?
8.
Flip Flopping:
You have recently been accused of flip-flopping.
To cite an example, at one time you were in favor of
abortion, then against it, the in favor of it again, and
now you claim you are against it. With your record of
flip flopping on these types of issues, what assurances
can you give the American voter that, if elected
president, you would not reverse yourself again?
